Tranquil low mountain hike – clockwise through meadows and woods of the Taistner Unterrain
Starting point: Monguelfo-Tesido – Tesido, crossroad 100 m after the Hotel Alpen Tesitin
Altitude difference: 260 m
Walking time: 2–3 hours
Difficulty: easy; ideal terrain for snowshoe hiking
Special note: orientation in the forest is difficult if leaving the marked trail
Remark: snowshoe hike only
Rest point: Mudler Hof mountain restaurant
The starting point is the crossroad 100 m after the Hotel Alpen Tesitin above Tesido (on the way to the Mudler Hof mountain restaurant). Follow the Unterrainerstraße (trail no. 21, cleared from snow in winter) for 3 km to the Feichterhof farm (1377 m). From there continue uphill with snowshoes, depending on snow conditions either along the forest edge (trail no. 21) or through the forest (trail no. 21 a) to the hidden Kirmlehof farm (1577 m). Follow the access road to the crossroads (left to the Mudler Hof, worthwhile rest point) and then continue southeastwards along the road until the snowshoe sign clearly directs you right into the forest. In a southeasterly direction descend through woods and meadows back to the starting point (pay special attention to the markings in the forest). Alternative: from the Kirmle/Mudler Hof junction follow road no. 31 through the hamlet of Guggenberg back to the starting point.
