for children from 6 to 12 years
This summer, the Visito Center of Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park is once again organizing programmes for children every Wednesday morning to deepen their knowledge of plants, animals, geology, ... - each week the focus is on a new topic that we will explore together.
Route
By bus: There are connections to Brunico, Corvara and Val Badia. Change at “Longega (Marebbe), Longega” and get off at the stop “S. Vigilio (Marebbe), Nature Park Visitor Center,” 100 meters from the Center.
By car: Free parking directly at the Park Visitor Center.

Ready to make a volcano ‘erupt’? During this workshop, we’ll embark on a journey full of experiments involving magma, gas bubbles, ash, ancient rocks and collapsing calderas. Throughout the morning, we’ll become little geologists and discover how the Bolzano Supervolcano, some 280 million years ago, transformed the landscape of South Tyrol.

MOUNTAIN RESCUE!
When you head into the mountains, you need to be prepared… including for helping others! Through practical exercises and simulated scenarios, we’ll discover, step by step, how to react when someone gets hurt or finds themselves in difficulty during a hike. We’ll learn what to do before, during and after such situations. Because even the youngest children can help, if they know how to do it properly.

For farmers and shepherds of the past, going to the mountains to make hay or graze the cows meant staying in small mountain barns—it was a bit like being on vacation. Taking care of pastures and meadows is extremely important for preserving the abundance of flowers and insects and the beauty of our landscape.

Let’s build a BIRDHOUSE
Birds must overcome many challenges to survive the cold season. Many migratory birds therefore choose to undertake the arduous journey to Africa in the fall. During the workshop, we’ll explore together which birds spend the winter here and build a birdhouse.
