The circular trail around Lake Antholz is a particularly beautiful and easy nature walk in the upper Antholz Valley. The path leads all the way around the emerald-green mountain lake, set within the stunning scenery of the Rieserferner mountain group.
Along the route, numerous information boards provide insights into the local flora and fauna, the formation of the lake, and the unique characteristics of this protected natural area.
The trail is mostly flat and well maintained, making it ideal for families, walkers and nature lovers. Beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains open up along the way.
The circular trail is a perfect destination for a relaxing walk and can easily be combined with a stop at one of the nearby refreshment places.
The lake circuit can be perfectly combined with a relaxing break along the shore. Several quiet and scenic spots around the lake invite you to enjoy nature. It is especially beautiful in autumn, when the surrounding forests turn colourful and create a unique atmosphere.
The starting point is the parking area at the biathlon centre or the bus stop “Lake Antholz”. From there, it is only about 200 metres to the start of the trail (at around 1,600 m altitude).
The path circles the Lake Antholz on well-maintained, barrier-free walking paths. Along the route, several information boards explain the natural features and landscape of the area.
The circular route is well signposted and has no significant elevation gain, making it easy and pleasant to walk. Numerous resting areas and viewpoints invite visitors to stop and enjoy the scenery. There are also several refreshment options around the lake.
The trail ends back at the starting point.
Take bus line 431 from the Olang-Antholz train station to reach Lake Antholz, the starting point of the hike.

From the Pustertal road, turn into Antholz Valley and follow the road to Lake Antholz.
Light hiking shoes or comfortable leisure clothing are sufficient. Depending on the season, sun protection and enough water are recommended. The trail is also suitable for families.
