The Two Lakes Viewpoint is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the upper Antholz Valley. From here, a spectacular panorama opens up, allowing you to admire both the deep blue Lake Antholz and the Lake Obersee at the Staller Saddle, set within an impressive alpine backdrop.

This unique perspective is what makes the viewpoint so special: while Lake Antholz lies calmly in the valley below, the Lake Obersee sits slightly higher in the alpine landscape near the Staller Saddle, right on the border between Italy and Austria. The view extends far across the surrounding mountains, creating a truly remarkable nature experience.

The Two Lakes Viewpoint is not only a rewarding destination for hikers, but also a perfect place to pause, enjoy the scenery, and capture unforgettable photos.

Arrival

From the Puster Valley Road, at Olang, turn into the Antholz Valley and follow the road to Lake Antholz.

Parking is available at the Biathlon Center (large paid parking area).

Alternatively, you can continue up to the Staller Saddle and start the hike from there. Attention: The pass road is single-lane and controlled by traffic lights:

  • From Austria to South Tyrol: every hour from :00 to :15

Public transport

Take bus line 431 from the Olang-Antholz train station to reach Lake Antholz.

From there, you can hike to the Two Lakes Viewpoint – a longer and more demanding option. Alternatively, the Two Lakes Shuttle takes you up to the Staller Saddle, where you can start the hike with less distance and elevation gain.
