The winter hike to Steinzger Alm hut starts at Lake Antholz and leads through the impressive winter landscape of the Antholz Valley. Following groomed winter hiking trails, the route first runs along the lake before climbing up to the idyllically situated mountain hut.
Along the way, beautiful views of snow-covered Lake Antholz and the impressive peaks of the Rieserferner Group accompany the hike. A particularly special option, when officially permitted, is to cover part of the route directly across the frozen Lake Antholz.
Steinzger Alm hut is a lovely destination for a leisurely winter hike surrounded by snow-covered mountain scenery.
The starting point is the car park at the biathlon center near Lake Antholz.
From there, first follow the road past the Tiroler Hütte hut. After the hotel Antholzer Wildsee Haus, the groomed winter hiking trail begins and initially leads to the far end of Lake Antholz. Continue along the winter hiking trail until the path to Steinzger Alm hut branches off to the right. From here, the route climbs up to the hut.
If the Lake Antholz is officially open for access, you can alternatively follow the marked winter hiking trail across the frozen lake to reach the far end of the lake. When on the ice, always stay on the marked and officially approved route.
The return follows the same route.
