This scenic winter hike leads from Antholz Mittertal through the snow-covered valley landscape to LakeAntholz. A large part of the route follows the groomed winter hiking trail and connects the villages of Antholz Mittertal and Antholz Obertal.
As the route gradually gains altitude, the impressive mountain scenery at the head of the valley comes ever closer, until the biathlon center and Lake Antholz are finally reached. The tour is ideal for anyone wishing to discover the Antholz Valley in winter on a longer but technically easy hike.
The starting point is the village center of Antholz Mittertal. From there, first walk to the sports area and then follow "Fischa" street to the right.
After crossing the Antholz stream, the groomed winter hiking trail branches off to the left. It follows the stream uphill through the valley to Antholz Obertal.
From there, continue following the signs for the winter hiking trail until you reach the main road. The final section follows the pavement alongside the road to the biathlon center and Lake Antholz.
The return can be made along the same route or comfortably by public bus back to Antholz Mittertal.
From the Pustertal road, turn into the Antholz Valley and drive to Antholz Mittertal.
