The route always follows the stream, making it especially enjoyable even on warm days. Information boards along the way provide insights into the importance of the mills, the use of water power, and the region’s rural culture.
This hike is ideal for families, leisure walkers, and anyone who wants to combine nature and history. The trail can be enjoyed as a short walk or a relaxed hike.
The Tränkabachl mill trail starts either at the bus stop “Antholz Obertal, Müller” or – for those arriving by car – at the parking area near the Rieserferner material cableway. From there, follow the signs and cross the road.
The path follows the Tränkabachl stream through an idyllic landscape, passing restored mills, old fences and traditional dry-stone walls. The gently ascending and well-maintained trail is ideal for a relaxed walk.
Information boards and a digital guide along the route provide insights into the history and cultural heritage of the area.
The return follows the same path or can be made comfortably by bus from the “Antholz Obertal, Steinzger” stop.
