The hike to Grente Alm hut is a diverse tour in the Antholz Valley. The alpine hut is located in a sunny panoramic position and is a popular destination for hikers looking for a varied hike with many possible extensions.
The ascent can either follow a steeper and more direct forest trail or a gentler forest road. Along the way, beautiful views open up over the Antholz Valley and the surrounding mountains.
Grente Alm hut is also an ideal starting point for further summit and panoramic hikes, including Grente Cross, Rammelstein peak, or connections to Kumpfl Alm hut and Mittertaler Ochsenalm hut.
Option 1 – From the parking area above the sawmill Ausserweger in Antholz Mittertal:
From the Antholz Valley, drive past the sawmill Ausserweger and continue into the forest at the Waldrasthof farm until reaching the signposted parking area.
From there, two routes lead up to Grente Alm hut:
Option 2 – From Antholz Niedertal:
The starting point is the church in Antholz Niedertal. From there, follow the path to the left towards the Maier farms / Pfaffingerhof farm.
The trail then climbs steadily along the forest edge on trail no. 6 up to Grente Alm hut.
Extension possibilities from Grente Alm hut:
The return follows the respective ascent route or can be completed as an individual circular tour.
From the Pustertal road, turn into the Antholz Valley and drive to Antholz Mittertal.
