The hike to Steinzger Alm hut is a varied tour in the upper Antholz Valley, combining the idyllic setting of Lake Antholz with a rewarding alpine destination.
The ascent can be done either steeply via a mountain trail or more comfortably via a forest road, allowing the hike to be adapted individually. At the top, the serviced Steinzger Alm hut invites you to enjoy a break with beautiful views of Lake Antholz and the surrounding mountains.
The combination of lake, forest and alpine pasture makes this hike especially appealing and diverse – ideal for leisure hikers and families with some fitness.
The starting point is Lake Antholz (approx. 1,650 m) at the biathlon centre. From there, follow the path along the right lakeshore to the end of the lake.
Here, the steeper ascent begins on trail no. 7B, which leads directly to Steinzger Alm hut (1,894 m, serviced).
Alternative:
For a more relaxed option, follow trail no. 11 first and then continue up a forest road with a steady incline to the hut.
For the return, follow the alpine path back to Lake Antholz and the starting point.
Extension:
From Steinzger Alm hut, the hike can be extended to the “2 Lakes View”, then continue to peak Vogelgrand and descend to Staller Saddle. From there, return to Lake Antholz via trail no. 11.
Take bus line 431 from the Olang-Antholz train station to reach Lake Antholz, the starting point of the hike.
